• At first, any hint of innuendo from you gets him at least a little flustered, like he’ll blush and duck his head and sort of adjust his glasses as you smile winningly at him and wait for a response, usually in the form of him clearing his throat slightly and giving you a small smile and saying ruefully “you’re a terror, sweetheart” 
  
• Sometimes he can’t help but remember all the friends he’s lost and all the young mutants he couldn’t help save and usually he’s good at just carrying that misplaced guilt around at the back of his mind but sometimes it’s just too much to handle and when this happens, he just sort of retreats to his room and breaks down and you have to go and find him and you pull his head into your lap and stroke his hair gently and let him finish crying as you sit with him
